Marvel Tokon Team Comps

The best 4v4 squads for the launch meta — who to pair, why they work, and how hard they are to run. MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a tag game, so your team matters as much as your point character.

S-tier all-star rushdown

Hard
  1. Black PantherPoint
  2. Magik
  3. Blade
  4. Star-LordAnchor

The strongest cross-source pick — four top-tier fighters where Star-Lord sits back to control range and build meter while Black Panther, Magik and Blade force high/low and left/right mix-ups that convert cleanly into Wall Breaks. Star-Lord's zoning patches the rushdown core's only hole: getting kept out.

How to build a teamthe logic behind the picks
  • Point melee + ranged assist + conversion anchor. Nearly every top team runs a fast close-range point (Black Panther, Wolverine, Magik), a ranged Assemble Assist to cover the approach (Iron Man, Doctor Doom, Magneto, Star-Lord), and a member who converts those assists into Wall Breaks.
  • Your first two slots must be self-sufficient. Characters 1 and 2 are always available; 3 and 4 get locked out until a Wall Break or a lost round, so both starters should be flexible, low-commitment picks. The four most-used starters are Spider-Man, Blade, Star-Lord and Magik.
  • Cover archetypes, not just tier. The best teams are built on synergy, not four S-tier names — mix rushdown, zoning, mix-up and closer, and give each member a job. The shared Vital Gauge and shared meter make one reliable defensive pick worth a slot.
  • Assist direction and timing matter as much as who. Forward / down / back assist versions change a character's utility completely, and racing to an early Wall Break unlocks your full roster.
  • Be careful stacking big or complex bodies. Huge, juggle-prone characters (Hulk, Peni Parker) and high-execution kits (Deadpool, Green Goblin) appear in far fewer teams — they get opened up easily. Don't stack them unless you main them.

Top-ranked ladder team

Hard
  1. Blade
  2. Iron Man
  3. Magneto
  4. Magik

tokon.gg names this as the comp that has held the top of ranked the longest. Iron Man and Magneto supply strong ranged Assemble Assists that cover Blade's and Magik's approach; the portals-and-pressure front then converts off those assists into damage. Two flexible starters up front satisfy the always-available rule.

Zone masters (keep-away)

Medium
  1. Doctor Doom
  2. Magneto
  3. Star-Lord
  4. Storm

Layered projectiles build a defensive wall — Doom lockdown, Magneto beams, Star-Lord gadgets and meter, Storm vertical control. Assists keep opponents pinned at range while chip and steady projectile damage pile up, and each member covers another's blind spot. (The exact fourth pick varies by source.)

Grappler & rushdown brawl

Medium
  1. WolverinePoint
  2. Hulk
  3. Carnage
  4. Ghost RiderAnchor

Get in, grab, never let go. Wolverine and Carnage swarm, Hulk is the armored grappler that punishes blocking with command throws, and Ghost Rider's chains threaten from close range. Pure strike/throw pressure built to end rounds fast — and three of the four are the game's own 5-star easy picks.

Easy all-rounder (beginner)

Easy
  1. Captain America
  2. Ms. Marvel
  3. Iron Man
  4. Wolverine

Four forgiving all-rounder kits with solid assists and no glaring weakness. Captain America's shield and Iron Man's beam cover the Wolverine / Ms. Marvel approach, so the team teaches spacing, assists and tag fundamentals without heavy execution — and it's strong even played simply.

Portal mix-up pressure

Hard
  1. MagikPoint
  2. Spider-Man
  3. Blade
  4. Ms. Marvel

Built to open opponents repeatedly. Magik's portals, Spider-Man's cross-ups and Blade's long normals stack ambiguous mix-ups, while Ms. Marvel's stretchy assist covers space and extends combos. Offense that rarely resets to neutral, snowballing each opening into a Wall Break.

The five story teams

The game's pre-built teams — a solid, on-theme starting point.

Fighting Avengers

  1. Captain America
  2. Iron Man
  3. Hulk
  4. Black Panther

The all-rounder Avengers — Captain America's shield and Iron Man's beams cover space while Hulk and Black Panther bring the close-range muscle. A forgiving, beginner-friendly team with an answer for most situations.

Unbreakable X-Men

  1. Storm
  2. Magik
  3. Wolverine
  4. Danger

A pressure-and-setup mix — Wolverine and Magik hunt for openings up close, Storm locks the opponent down, and Danger lays traps. High ceiling, and the team's high hit-counts build gauge fast.

Amazing Guardians

  1. Spider-Man
  2. Ms. Marvel
  3. Star-Lord
  4. Peni Parker

Mobility and space control — Spider-Man and Ms. Marvel swarm from the air, Star-Lord zones from range, and Peni Parker sets up drones. Excellent movement, though Peni wants setup time.

Knights of Doom

  1. Doctor Doom
  2. Magneto
  3. Green Goblin
  4. Carnage

The zoning-and-lockdown squad — Doctor Doom and Magneto wall off space while Green Goblin and Carnage apply the pressure, with strong assists to cover an approach.

Samurai Outriders

  1. Ghost Rider
  2. Blade
  3. Loki
  4. Deadpool

A range-and-conversion crew — Ghost Rider's chains and Loki's tricks control the ground while Blade and Deadpool cash in. Blade in particular is a popular anchor across the meta.
